About Whit Hassett
Whit is a director, videographer and drone pilot based in the Pacific Northwest.
Before stepping behind the camera, she spent nearly a decade working as an ecologist with land trusts and nonprofits, focusing on land conservation, watershed restoration, and science communication.
Her work has taken her from the coral reefs of Hawaii to the salmon rivers of the Northwest, always centering on the relationship between people and place. Her award-winning short films, This Land and I Am Salmon, have been screened at major film festivals worldwide, and she’s currently documenting the largest dam removal and river restoration project on the planet. Whit holds a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Hawaii and an MS from Washington State University.
She is available to direct, film or fly drones for short or long term projects.
